    Winemaker Notes

With the 2019 vintage, we’ve slightly reduced overall oak aging to allow the wine’s freshness, bright acidity, and vibrant red fruit flavors to shine. This bright and expressive Cabernet is ideal for al fresco lunches and picnics, pairing beautifully with a variety of meals.

This shows lots of ripe dark and blue fruit on the nose, together with some leafy character. Notes of spices, cedar wood, and walnuts, too. Medium to full-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh, juicy-fruit profile. Polished and smooth with an array of succulent berries and blue flowers in the aftertaste. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years. Try after 2024.

This is a well-balanced red with small amounts of other varieties like Merlot. Spicy, it shows well-integrated oak and tannin within a taut, elegant and lengthy palate of blueberry and black currant.

A sleek, polished style, with cassis and plum notes driving through, carried by a graphite spine and backed by tobacco, briar and savory notes. Drink now.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon includes small proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec and was aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. For entry-level Napa, it’s a solid effort, marrying ripe cherries and hints of cassis with gentle notes of sage and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it’s soft enough to drink now, yet it shows enough velvety tannins to age at least through 2030. Nicely done.

  • Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

    $82.99

    Winemaker Notes

The 2018 vintage was one of exceptional quality for Heitz Cellar. The cooler to moderate temperatures during the growing season allowed us to balance sugar and phenolic maturity in the fruit while maintaining natural acidity to help preserve the fresh characteristics of the vintage. The elegance and balanced structure of the 2018 vintage will make this an incredible wine to drink upon release and will continue to reward with cellar aging.

  • KULETO ESTATE, NATIVE SON RED WINE NAPA VALLEY

    $18.99

A collision between the old and new. It marries warm, spicy, red-fruit driven Cabernet Sauvignon with Bordeaux varietals, grippy Sangiovese and the opulent wild brambly fruit of Zinfandel. It’s the wine an old Italian guy would make if he inherited a California vineyard. This wine is derived from Kuleto Estate’s very first Sangiovese bottling

  • MATTHIASSON, RIBOLLA GIALLA MATTHIASSON VINEYARD NAPA VALLEY

    $50.99

The Ribolla gialla tastes like hazelnuts, baking spices, meyer lemon curd, Bartlett pear, but most of all it has a stony minerality that is incredibly distinctive. There is supple tannic structure and fresh balanced acidity, with great weight and length given the low alcohol.

  • MATTHIASSON, WHITE WINE NAPA VALLEY

    $41.99

The 2017 White Wine has its trademark spice and mineral quality, and despite the warm year the wine carries its trademark acidity and freshness.
