Description

BEYRA – Vinhos de Altitude is the most recent project of the winemaker Rui Roboredo Madeira. In the small village of Vermiosa, located in the Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo municipality, at an average altitude of 700 mt, we grow grapes and create wines for centuries, that still today are known for his freshness and personality. In this area, inside the Beira Interior wine region, between schist and granite soils of the basin of the Douro river, there are many veins of quartz, that combines in an unique terroir. There, we got better aeration of the soil, less retention of nutrients, low yields and mainly better and more uniform maturation due to reflection of sunlight by the Quartz. The wines have a strong personality, showing great minerality and acidity, which makes them very elegant.
