Description

No winery captures the fun-loving, easy-going lifestyle of Sonoma County better than Murphy Goode. Founded in 1985 by friends Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and Dave Ready, the winery has been embraced by serious and casual wine drinkers as much for their unpretentious attitude as for their exceptional wines.

Murphy-Goode’s home base is the Alexander Valley, a rural agricultural haven in northeastern Sonoma County that is particularly adept at producing great Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, all specialties of Murphy-Goode.

When the winery was established in 1985, founders Tim Murphy and Dale Goode were two of the most important and cutting-edge growers in the Alexander Valley. They brought wire trellising, broad scale drip irrigation, leaf pulling and other modern viticultural techniques to this bucolic AVA. The third founding member, Dave Ready, was the marketing expert of the group. He was the man behind the winery’s quirky personality and playful communications.

In addition to estate vineyards in the Alexander Valley, the winery harvests fruit from a handful of premier grower vineyards primarily in Sonoma County. Under the watchful eye of Dave Ready Jr., winemaker since 2001, Murphy-Goode’s wines are pure, ripe, fruit-driven and elegant.
