An homage to the epic wine professional, Michael Broadbent, who founded Broadbent (one of our importers!) and also started the original wine auction in 1966 in collaboration with Christie’s auction house. This wine is made in the old-school Napa style, with balance, acidity, structure, and lots of delicious dark fruit character.

Founded in 2010, Aviary Vineyards launched with the 2009 vintage of our Napa Valley Red Blend. That first vintage took advantage of tiny lots of different varieties from 13 different vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Much like an aviary, the blend of different grapes interacted and harmonized to create a wine that was beautiful, enjoyable,…

This wine is big, bold and balanced, 12 months on French/American oak. It is dark garnet in color with aromas of bramble berries, cassis, cigar box, spice, almonds, and chocolate. The round palate offers a memorable profile of red fruits, dark chocolate, and a subtle tea leaf that lingers.
Black Stallion Estate Winery Chardonnay opens with aromas of yellow pear, lemon curd, jasmine and hint of oak. The flavors are tantalizing notes of citrus, chamomile, orange blossom and brown butter. The Chardonnay from the cooler vineyards provides the bright acidity, citrus notes, and lean backbone of the wine, where the Chardonnay from the warmer…
Our classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon reveals aromas of ripe blackberry and boysenberry with hints of dark chocolate and sweet oak. On the palate, the dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and lush tannins that carry all the way over a lingering, elegant finish—with just a kiss of minerality.

PALATE : Green apple, candied orange peel, and baking spices anchor a panoply of vineyard flavors. Seamlessly interwoven between each is fresh, bright acidity along with incredible minerality and depth that slowly build texture and weight.
FINISH : The contrast between silky toast and sweet pear highlights an exceedingly rich finish that will only become more supple and dynamic with age.
Enticing aromas of blackberry, plum, and raspberry leap
from the glass with underlying notes of caramel, dark
chocolate, and rose petals. Fresh and vibrant flavors of
cherry, pomegranate, nutmeg, and vanilla are seamlessly
integrated with bright acidity, polished tannins, and a
long, velvety finish.
Winemaker NotesWith the 2019 vintage, we’ve slightly reduced overall oak aging to allow the wine’s freshness, bright acidity, and vibrant red fruit flavors to shine. This bright and expressive Cabernet is ideal for al fresco lunches and picnics, pairing beautifully with a variety of meals.
Critical AcclaimThis shows lots of ripe dark and blue fruit on the nose, together with some leafy character. Notes of spices, cedar wood, and walnuts, too. Medium to full-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh, juicy-fruit profile. Polished and smooth with an array of succulent berries and blue flowers in the aftertaste. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years. Try after 2024.This is a well-balanced red with small amounts of other varieties like Merlot. Spicy, it shows well-integrated oak and tannin within a taut, elegant and lengthy palate of blueberry and black currant.
A sleek, polished style, with cassis and plum notes driving through, carried by a graphite spine and backed by tobacco, briar and savory notes. Drink now.The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon includes small proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec and was aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. For entry-level Napa, it’s a solid effort, marrying ripe cherries and hints of cassis with gentle notes of sage and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it’s soft enough to drink now, yet it shows enough velvety tannins to age at least through 2030. Nicely done.
