Winemaker Notes
The presence of Syrah is in decline in the final blend and the influence of Grenache, Cinsaut, Carignan and Tinta Barocca is more pronounced. The Mourvèdre component is the strongest it has ever been and has brought an amazing dynamic about in terms of the finishing of the wine – persistence.
2018 is a wine with a big temperament: explosive, but not excessive. It is like a plane with perfect aerodynamics, flying effortlessly; very much in line with 2001, 2008, and 2011.

Winemaker Notes
The nose is already quite impressive, showing lemon skin, grapefruit, honeysuckle, and pear, with a “rusty” savoury type of edge. The palate shows boundless energy, fine tannin and trademark towering acidity. It’s the type of wine that builds in the mouth, revealing more of itself, unfolding, cascading.
Chris and Suzaan Alheit truly represent some of what is cool and new in South Africa. They work with some very old vineyards, using no sulphur or intervention in the fermentation, elevage is exclusively in neutral oak, and the wines are rich, textured, and very age-worthy.

This wine is made in the old-school Napa style, with balance, acidity, structure, and lots of delicious dark fruit character.

A blend of 40% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 20% Syrah, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Bargemone’s 2019 Coteaux d’Aix en Provence Rose boasts an attractively lifted, herbal note on the nose, plus hints of strawberries, cucumbers, melon, and peppery spice. It’s light to medium-bodied but with a pleasant, silky texture and plenty of length. – Joe Czerwinski

Piedmont, Italy: Moscato d’ Asti
The color of the wine is a ruby red, lively and pleasant. Its bouquet reminds of flowers and fruits, like small red fruits or violets, but it has also a spicy note. On the palate, the taste is elegant, full-bodied and savoury, characteristics due to its rounded tannins typical of Castiglione Falletto cru.
